Unless you count the airports, I’ve never been to New York City. I’ve spent a few nights in places like Buffalo and Niagara Falls and one week at a camp upstate, but I’ve never set foot in or near the city. I don’t even really understand burroughs. Is Brooklyn part of NYC? Anyway, suddenly things are [...] I’m looking over your dead dog, Brewer how’s the water at Wrightsville? Maybe you’re not in the water . . . Every time I post, you’re here in seconds. Night or day. If you’re a person, I want to say hello. I miss you. These drive-by glances at the site are not enough. I hope you notice when I visit you too. And if we mustn’t talk, I still understand, remember? And I respect that. Always [...] What a great week! And the past two days, in particular, have been exceptional now that I’m FORTY. I have big plans for FORTY. The first one is in progress in a big way. I’m hoping for early retirement. There’s even a clue on Facebook. You could probably read it, but I don’t think you can keep [...] to an old OMD song: They’re heading for I think I’m nearing the end of my book. I’ve written what I can, save for three chapters, only one of which I’ve actually started. So maybe by the end of this year I’ll have something to send. The final three, as I’ve outlined them are past, present, future pieces. The future’s a little tricky in [...] Years from now, when I’m reading you on the couch, will you remember the long day I had today? Will you speak of the early morning, the two classes, the desk shift, the bike ride/bus trip to work, and the ride all of the way home, down Barbur, through downtown, and across the steel bridge?
