I know he lives in Earlysville, VA, so it’s difficult for me to imagine that this visitor (below) to my blog is not him. Why didn’t Casteen IV sign the letter in support of his buddy, Ted Genoways? Now that the alleged workplace bullying of suicide victim Kevin Morrissey has gone national, I thought I’d provide links here to all of the posts regarding Ted Genoways, John Casteen IV, VQR (Virginia Quarterly Review), and UVA (University of Virginia) that have appeared on my websites over the years. I’m talking Foetry May 11, 2005 Southern Manners [...] When my wife was a professor at UNCW, she was victimized by workplace bullying, and despite multiple complaints, it continued until she quit. (and beyond, but that’s another story) One of the bullies had already forced three other creative writing professors to leave before her. He [...] Hey Buddy. Can’t take the heat? Today in England, The Guardian decided to drag my name and website back into the limelight for another fifteen minutes. In case you, like 99% of the world, don’t really follow poetry scandals, here’s what’s been happening: Derek Walcott was one of the contenders for a post as Oxford’s Professor of Poetry. This brought to [...] and the response I sent, which will likely put me on their prayer list . . . Dear Friends and Family of we three X’s, If you would like to be removed from this email list, no problem! Just respond to this email with “Remove” in the subject line. Thanks! We wanted to send an update about [...] I “know” someone who got Dooced this week. I’ve never met her, but we correspond every once in awhile, I buy her knitting, etc. My employer’s taken some flack from me here lately, but rightfully so. Overall, I love my job. My colleagues and students are great. After my series of concerned posts about [...] |
