New Year’s Eve 2009
I was a wreck. In September, I’d sent off my book manuscript to a press I really like. Since I know someone there, I’d expected to hear something by December. And then . . . nothing. I felt despondent. Consider … Continue reading

Erasure with Natasha Trethewey
I mostly enjoyed the Thursday reading and q & a with Natasha Trethewey, sponsored by Literary Arts. Some of her poems sounded nice read aloud. I particularly enjoyed her palindrome. But I admit that I couldn’t focus on the poems … Continue reading
John Casteen IV
I know he lives in Earlysville, VA, so it’s difficult for me to imagine that this visitor (below) to my blog is not him. Why didn’t Casteen IV sign the letter in support of his buddy, Ted Genoways?

Ted Genoways
Now that the alleged workplace bullying of suicide victim Kevin Morrissey has gone national, I thought I’d provide links here to all of the posts regarding Ted Genoways, John Casteen IV, VQR (Virginia Quarterly Review), and UVA (University of Virginia) … Continue reading

My Bud Googles
Andy was feeling sorry for me about the Poetry Foundation Googler, so he did some searches of his own. Now that’s a friend! The screen capture’s hard to read. It says, “www.google.com/search?q=alan cordle rocks the casbah” and “www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=QE6&ei=3aemSpmXI8GcsAbhurCcBg&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=alan cordle put … Continue reading

Poetry losing its Foundation
Someone at the Poetry Foundation doesn’t like me. They keep visiting this site, and as you can see in the screencapture below, opted to search for my name, along with mature words like “asshole” and “dumbshit.” It could be Travis … Continue reading
